In an effort to try to get my spasming jaw muscles to relax a little, I went in search of our heating pad tonight. The dentist recommended I use moist heat on my aching jaw, which involves getting a washcloth wet with super hot water and/or reheating it in the microwave. That does work great, except I'm up every five minutes reheating the washcloth. It's just not very practical.
For the last two weeks, I've been meaning to hunt down our heating pad. I knew it was in a cupboard in our bathroom, but this is something that gets used once every two or three years. I always carefully put it away but then I forget which shelf it's on. It was, of course, on the top shelf when I thought it was on the bottom shelf, or if not there, on one of the other two shelves. So finally after thinking about it for weeks, tonight I finally went in search of it and found it on the last of the four shelves I searched. I should label the damn shelf, I guess.
I dunno. It aches up toward my ear and into my ear and it makes me sad.
On the other hand, a former coworker came into the office today to visit us. She was forced to retire on disability a couple of years ago when she was diagnosed with cancer. She has recently finished her third round of chemo and now faces another surgery to remove a damaged organ and see if there's still cancer. She was taking off her hat and showing off her peach fuzz hair which was just starting to return, now that she's done with the chemo, and is gearing up for yet another surgery.
So really ... sore jaw? BFD.
